The Iranian Islamic Republic Army said early on Friday, July 31 (August 9), that it carried out a drone attack on US positions in Kuwait.

The army’s public relations office said in a statement that the action was in response to a US attack on “a residential house” on Qeshm Island, which left three dead.

In its statement, Iran’s army claimed that it targeted the Ahmad al-Jaber base in Kuwait, citing its role “in the air and surveillance attacks” by the United States. The statement further claimed that the “fighter jet hangars, satellite communications systems, and US equipment storage” at this base were targeted by the Iranian army’s drones.

The US Army carried out extensive attacks on the positions of the Islamic Republic in various parts of Iran in the early hours of Thursday, July 30. During an attack on Qeshm, according to officials of the Islamic Republic, three people (a child and his parents) were killed.
