🔶 Trump: I’m not looking to negotiate with Iran, but something will happen

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said that he is not seeking negotiations with the Islamic Republic. At the same time, he stated that “a development regarding Iran will happen soon.”

Trump, at a press briefing at Andrews Air Force Base, told reporters, in response to the question of whether talks with Iran are underway: “We do not negotiate with Iran, but in any case something will happen.”

He added: “Most people think this development will take place after the election.”

Trump’s remarks come as, according to The New York Times, the U.S. and Israeli militaries have been drawing up specific plans to resume attacks against the Islamic Republic after the U.S. midterm election. This election will be held on November 3.

U.S. officials and sources familiar with the matter told The New York Times that the United States and Israel are engaged in short but wide-ranging operational preparations, while also simultaneously strengthening their military exercises.
