🔶 Qatar: Efforts to reach an agreement between Iran and the United States

Majed Ansari, the spokesperson of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Tuesday, August 4 (13 Mordad) that efforts to find a diplomatic solution to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States are still ongoing. He added that mediators from this country, along with Pakistan and Oman, are in “close coordination” with one another to facilitate negotiations between the two sides and to exchange draft proposals favored by Tehran and Washington.

Ansari told reporters that the talks are currently focused on “reaching a short-term solution” so that Iran and the United States can return to the negotiating table again and the diplomatic process for resolving disputes can continue.

Earlier, a senior Pakistani official had also told The Guardian that despite the current impasse, Islamabad is still actively working behind the scenes in diplomacy to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington.
