The Islamic Republic Human Rights Headquarters, by issuing a statement about protests in Albania, expressed concern and asked the government of that country, while maintaining public order, to provide the opportunity to hold peaceful protests and to engage in dialogue with citizens.
In its statement, the Headquarters wrote: “The Albanian government must, while maintaining public order, provide the opportunity for the peaceful expression of demands and genuine dialogue with students, civil groups and other citizens.”
The Islamic Republic Human Rights Headquarters also called for the publication of accurate, verifiable statistics on those detained and the injured in the protests in Albania.
In another part of the statement, it said: “It is expected that the Albanian government will address the concerns raised through transparency, conducting independent investigations, and responding to citizens’ demands.”
