🔶 Israel Channel 12: Israel was supposed to take part in the major U.S. attack on Iran

Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Sunday, August 2 (11 Mordad), citing American officials, that Israel was supposed to take part in the sweeping U.S. attack against Iran, but that Donald Trump, after consultations and efforts by Qatar and Saudi Arabia to persuade him, decided to call off the attack.

One of these officials told the network that Israel had informed the United States that if the sweeping attack did not include targeting sites tied to the leadership of the Islamic Republic regime as well as places linked to Iran’s economy, then in essence it would be pointless.

These officials told Channel 12 that Trump was closer than at any other time to carrying out an attack on Iran, but that some countries in the region put pressure on him to give Tehran another opportunity for negotiations.

On Saturday evening, Trump announced the cancellation of the attack in a post on Truth Social, saying it was due to a request from Iran and regional countries, and without providing details he said that agreement had been reached regarding “the frameworks of a deal.”
