🔶 Houthis Say They Targeted a Saudi Oil Tanker in the Red Sea
Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen said on Wednesday, August 5 (14 Mordad), that while continuing their declared maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, they targeted a Saudi oil tanker near the port of Yanbu in the Red Sea.
According to a military spokesman for the Houthis, this is the eighth Saudi oil tanker that has been targeted since the start of the blockade on July 22.
Yahya Saree, in a video message, said the group “successfully targeted the Saudi oil tanker ‘Wafa’ in the northern Red Sea, along the coasts of Yanbu, with several ballistic missiles.”
The Houthis said they would step up their attacks in the northern Red Sea because Saudi Arabia, in response to the group’s maritime blockade, has transferred its tankers to this area via the southern route.
