🔶 Hope Bazad and Pouria Safout were executed on charges of “espionage” for Israel

The Judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced that two prisoners, named Hope Bazad and Pouria Safout, were executed on charges of “intelligence cooperation” and “espionage” for Israel during the 12-day war and the recent war between the United States and Israel with Iran, on Monday morning, 12 Mordad.

Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the Judiciary, reported that the two had allegedly sent “coordinates, geographic locations, and information related to military, law-enforcement, and security centers” to “Mossad officers.”

According to the Judiciary, after the death sentences were issued for Hope Bazad and Pouria Safout, the ruling was also confirmed by the Supreme Court. In this report, no mention was made of the time and manner of the two citizens’ arrest, the course of proceedings and the trial, or details of their case.

Details of the case remain unclear. Before the announcement of confirmation of the death sentence, no significant public information had been released about the time of arrest, the course of proceedings, or the status of Hope Bazad and Pouria Safout, and human-rights organizations had not published a report about their case. Images of the two have not been released to date either.
