🔶 Aramco reports a 44% increase in its profit due to higher oil prices
Saudi Aramco reported on Tuesday, August 4 (13 Mordad), a 44% increase in its second-quarter net profit. According to the company’s quarterly report, Aramco’s net profit in the April to June period this year reached $32.7 billion, representing a 44% increase compared with the same period last year.
This striking profit comes as energy prices worldwide have risen due to the war in Iran, disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Saudi ships in the Red Sea. The price of crude oil has fluctuated widely during the war in Iran, but in the second quarter of 2026 it was significantly higher than in the same period of the previous year.
Amin H. Nasser, President and CEO of Aramco, said in a statement that the company, despite unprecedented disruptions to supply through the Strait of Hormuz, has still maintained its ability to carry on commercial activities. He attributed this success to Aramco’s “asset diversification and decades-long planning, including strategic infrastructure such as the East-West pipeline, storage capacity, and export terminals.”
