🔶 عراقچی said Israel is «the biggest obstacle» to implementing the understanding agreement between Iran and the United States

Abbas Araqchi, foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, said that Israel is «the biggest opponent and obstacle» to the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington.

Araqchi said at a meeting of heads of education on Tuesday, 27 Mordad: «They [Israel] made every effort to prevent such an understanding from being reached, they made every effort for this understanding to fail, and they made every effort for it not to be implemented—and they are still continuing that effort.»

Araqchi also, referring to a threat by Donald Trump, the U.S. president, in the early days of the war regarding «unconditional surrender» by Iran, called it «a baseless notion» and added: «Those who were looking for unconditional surrender begged for negotiations within a short period after the start of the war. It was us who said we do not accept a ceasefire and that we continued the war until we reached a point where they agreed to a ceasefire and negotiations on terms of Iran.»
