🔶 UKMTO says three oil tankers were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) said that three vessels were targeted in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to this report, two of the targeted ships were oil tankers, one of which was damaged on the port side. The third vessel was also a tanker carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The UKMTO has not announced the exact nature of how these vessels were targeted. The report was published one day after Hossein Mahdavi, a spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned that any vessel attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz would be damaged.

He had said: “Either we target it or it hits a mine.” Two nights ago, reports also emerged about an incident in which a Kuwaiti supertanker was targeted in this waterway.
