🔶 Syria’s internal security forces announce the arrest of a Hezbollah-linked cell
Syria’s internal security forces announced that they had arrested a three-person cell affiliated with the terrorist group Hezbollah, which, according to them, was planning to carry out sabotage operations.
The Syrian security agency said on Tuesday, September 29 (Mehr 7) on the social media platform X that the cell was planning a sabotage act in the Yarmouk Basin area in the Daraa province, and for that reason, Syrian security forces carried out preventive operations.
According to this report, the people arrested had attempted to prepare several rocket-launch platforms. Syria’s internal security forces say these platforms have been fully collected and disabled.
In this regard, The Jerusalem Post referred to Israeli security assessments and wrote that Ahmad al-Sharaa, president of Syria, has directed much of the country’s resources—from tax revenues to international aid—toward building a large army and purchasing weapons systems.
