🔸The New York Times reported on Thursday, 14 Aban, citing five officials, that Iran is reviewing a series of “clear and specific” proposals put forward by mediators for an agreement with the United States—proposals that, according to the newspaper, “could determine the future of this country’s nuclear program.”
🔸Officials in talks with The New York Times said that Iran’s willingness to resume nuclear negotiations, after weeks of resistance and lack of flexibility in this regard, indicates that recent mediation efforts led by Qatar to prevent a full-scale return to war have been successful to some extent.
🔸The New York Times has not named these officials, but said that one of them is American and two are Iranian. They referred to the conditions under review as “specific proposals,” but did not provide further details.
🔸In recent days, Qatari officials traveled to Tehran at least twice in order to reach an agreement between Iran and the United States, and Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed that Abbas Araghchi’s deputy has traveled to Qatar to continue the talks.
