🔶Kuwait has shut down the only Iranian school in the country

A source at Kuwait’s Ministry of Education told Agence France-Presse that officials in the country have issued an order to shut down the only Iranian school in Kuwait.

The informed source did not provide a specific reason for the closure of the Iranian school, but Kuwait is one of several countries in the Persian Gulf that host U.S. forces and, during the war, were repeatedly targeted by Iran; the latest instance also occurred after the ceasefire was halted in June between the parties involved.

In the text of a directive that AFP said it had seen, it states: “The Minister of Education has decided to revoke the educational license of the Iranian private school and close it.”

Under this decision, the admission of new students for the coming academic year has also been halted, and Kuwait’s Ministry of Education has asked parents to transfer their children to other schools.
