🔶 Kepler: 25 cargo ships crossed the Bab al-Mandab Strait

The company “Kepler,” which tracks ship movements, announced that over the course of Thursday, July 30 (8 Mordad), 25 cargo ships carrying goods had crossed the Bab al-Mandab Strait. According to Kepler, this comes while ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is still facing severe restrictions, and during Thursday only two tankers managed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Based on Kepler’s data on the 25 ships that passed through the Bab al-Mandab Strait, 18 ships entered the Red Sea and 7 ships exited through this strait. Among the ships that successfully crossed the Bab al-Mandab Strait on Thursday, several tankers were spotted, including two ultra-large tankers, one tanker in the “Suezmax” size, and five tankers in the “Aframax” size.

In the tanker size ranking, “Suezmax” and “Aframax” sizes rank lower than ultra-large tankers.

Reuters, citing data from Kepler, reported that two ships that had been navigating in the waters of the Oman Sea entered the waters of the Persian Gulf on Thursday via the Strait of Hormuz.
