Donald Trump, the U.S. president, warned in a conversation with Fox News that if the Islamic Republic backs out again from a possible agreement, it “will take a very hard hit.” He said: “They know it and understand it.” Trump also stressed: “They can’t have nuclear weapons. The matter is very simple.” He added that the Islamic Republic currently also is not capable of obtaining a nuclear weapon, but this is expected to be formalized in the framework of an agreement.

Trump also spoke about the Strait of Hormuz, saying: “The strait will open very soon; otherwise it will take a very hard blow from which, after that, the strait will open.” He also claimed that the United States was ready to carry out a broad attack against the Islamic Republic, but Tehran’s officials requested negotiations in order to prevent it. According to him, the Islamic Republic “politely” asked for talks, and he also responded: “Let’s finally come and resolve this matter.”

The U.S. president also said: “We dealt them a very, very hard blow, but the main blow is still on the way.” At the same time, he expressed hope that Washington will not be forced to carry out this attack.
