🔻The number of miners killed following a methane gas explosion at a coal mining complex in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has reached at least 34, and rescue operations are underway to save two other people who are still trapped under the rubble

The incident occurred on Thursday in the Suriang area near the city of Quetta.

According to local officials, 36 people were in the collapsed section of the mine at the time of the explosion, and search operations are ongoing at a depth of about 1,200 meters.

Abdulghani Baloch, a senior official in the mining department in the area, said that two neighboring mines were also severely damaged by the explosion.

The provincial disaster management authorities have also announced that the efforts of the rescue forces to reach the two trapped miners are still ongoing
