A drone-captured footage shows a single female whale giving birth to this calf in an area known as the “humpback whale highway.”

Alexander Farst, a filmmaker at the Orca Institute, an active conservation charity for marine mammals, recorded the scene.

He believes this is the first time the birth of a humpback whale has been recorded and filmed using a drone.
