🔶Barak Ravid, Axios reporter, reports “impersonation of his identity on WhatsApp”

Barak Ravid, an international relations analyst and a well-known reporter for the website “Axios,” warned on the X network about the misuse of his name and photo. He suggested that this misuse could have been designed and carried out by “Iranian intelligence institutions.” Barak Ravid has, to date, published various reports and analyses about the situation in Iran.

He wrote on the social network X: «In recent days, a number of people have received messages on WhatsApp from this number. The person or entity using this number (in my view, Iranian intelligence institutions), by impersonating identity, seeks to invite people to a video call and encourage and persuade them to click on a link. This action could lead to the hacking of your mobile phone or other digital devices.»

Barak Ravid warned his audience that if they receive a message from this number, they should not respond to it, block the number, and report it.
