🔶Ashkan Najafi won an award at the Hof Film Festival in Germany for the film “Neda”

Ashkan Najafi, the Iranian director and screenwriter living in Germany, succeeded at the 60th edition of the Hof Film Festival in receiving the award for support of new German cinema.

The award was presented to him on Thursday, October 22, at a ceremony in the Freiheitshalle hall in the city of Hof.

Najafi received this award for the film “Neda.” The film tells the story of an Iranian translator working at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees in Germany.

During her work, this woman comes across a person who, in the past, tortured her and who has now filed for asylum in Germany.

This encounter places the film’s main character in a difficult choice between carrying out her professional duty and trying to achieve justice.

Ashkan Najafi was born in 1983 in Tehran.

Before entering the world of cinema, he worked as a journalist, especially covering freedom-seeking and reformist movements in Iran.
