According to the latest reports and statements, Hamrahe Aval and Irancell, the two main mobile operators in Iran, increased their calling, SMS, and data package tariffs by up to 40% based on new regulations.
Hamrahe Aval said in a notice that the new tariffs, with approval from the competent authorities, took effect from early Friday, the first of Aban.
The operator cited “the multiple-fold increase in the cost of supplying equipment, maintaining and developing communications infrastructure, and the need for necessary resources for investment, with the aim of preserving network stability and improving the quality of services” as the reason for the tariff increase.
Irancell said the new tariffs will be applied gradually across all sales channels of the operator from early Friday, the first of Aban.
In addition to mobile calling, SMS, and internet services, the tariff increases also include fixed internet services TD-LTE and fiber optics (FTTx).
