Alireza Zakani, mayor of Tehran, said in a speech in Tehran on Tuesday, the seventh of Mehr, that the United States’ program for the Islamic Republic is to create “turmoil and chaos within the country” and to provide the possibility for a direct attack on Iran.

He added: “The country is moving toward a direction in which rifts provide the cause for disorder in the country, which is what the Americans want.”

Zakani continued: “The United States intends to push the country toward a social explosion. Even revolutionary individuals are dissatisfied with the country’s harsh economic conditions and with disorder and instability.”
