Donald Trump, the US president, said Washington can end the conflict with Iran “very quickly” and is now deciding between wrapping things up and waiting for the Islamic Republic to wear out.
Trump, on Friday, 1 Aban, before traveling to Florida to take part in an election rally, in response to a reporter’s question about the likelihood of the impasse continuing for a year, said: “The question is whether we want to finish the job or let them gradually deteriorate; because we’re getting whatever we want.”
He said the US Navy has blocked the Strait of Hormuz route for the Iranian government, but other countries are sending their oil through this route. According to Trump, the volume of oil transiting in the past week has even been higher than in the period before the war.
The US president also rejected a report about the payment of two billion dollars by Middle Eastern countries to his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, calling it “completely false” and “fake news.”
