🔶 22 EU countries demand an urgent meeting on the Ceuta migration crisis

The leaders of 22 member countries of the European Union, in a joint letter to the presidency of Ireland-in-office of the Council of the EU, called for the immediate convening of a meeting of the interior ministers to examine the Ceuta migration crisis.

In the letter, published on Saturday, it states: “The events of the past days require an urgent and coordinated response from Europe.”

The signatories of the letter emphasized that the recent crisis in Spain’s Ceuta region is no longer only an issue for Spain and requires decision-making at the level of the European Union.

Friedrich Merz, the Chancellor of Germany, and Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy, are among the signatories of the letter.
