🔻The Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal national team saga is still the headline; despite three wins by Portugal in this edition of the UEFA Nations League, the controversies related to this superstar’s departure from the national team camp are only growing.
🔹According to Marca, a new development has once again sparked controversy in Portugal; Ronaldo has liked comments that heavily criticized his teammates.
🔹These remarks were raised by Felipe Melo, a former Brazilian footballer. In an interview with SportTV, he criticized the behavior of Portugal players toward their captain and questioned the lack of support for Ronaldo and the disrespect shown to this 41-year-old forward.
🔹Felipe Melo also made a sensitive comparison; he believes there is a significant difference between how Ronaldo’s teammates treat him and how Argentina’s players support Lionel Messi. Melo also referred to Rasmus Højlund to show just how much Ronaldo is still a role model for other players.
🔹Melo said: “There is a very big difference between how Cristiano’s Portuguese teammates treat him and how Argentina’s players behave toward Lionel Messi.”
