🔸Pete Hegseth, the U.S. defense minister, said about the Iran war that Washington is determined to carry through what it has started in order to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

🔸He said in a video message on Thursday, 14 Aban: “Regardless of how people feel about this war, this war ensures that Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”

🔸The remarks by Mr. Hegseth were made as reports circulated about the possibility of his impeachment; especially due to the way he managed the war with Iran, which some say was a factor behind the Republicans’ heavy defeat in the elections.

🔸However, on Thursday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump described Pete Hegseth’s performance at the White House as “extraordinary.”

🔸The White House rejected rumors about the possibility of Pete Hegseth stepping down and also Marco Rubio, the U.S. secretary of state, during potential changes in Donald Trump’s administration after the election.
