🔻Palestinian officials say at least 13 people, including several children, were killed in the latest attacks on Gaza.
The Gaza Civil Defense Organization said that Israeli military aircraft carried out attacks on Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Deir al-Balah.
The attacks were the second consecutive night of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and were carried out a few days after Hamas agreed to a disarmament plan; under the plan, the Palestinian group would hand over its weapons to Donald Trump’s “peace team,” the “Peace Mission.”
An Israeli army spokesperson said the attacks targeted military forces in Gaza and that two Hamas members were killed in the process.
Elly Cohen, Israel’s energy minister, said on Sunday that no agreement to halt the attacks on the Gaza Strip had yet been reached; a region that is now 70% under Israeli control.
According to Reuters, Cohen added that if Hamas does not disarm, he believes the Gaza Strip should be fully under Israeli control; this while, under the “peace team” plan, Israel is expected to leave the area.
The Israeli army also announced on Sunday, in a post on the X social network, that it had killed two Hamas commanders.
The Israeli army further said that in a separate attack last week, it killed another Hamas member from the Yebalia Brigade in northern Gaza. According to the Israeli army, all three were planning attacks on Israeli targets.
