🔻 Mohammad Dahlan, a former senior official of the Fatah movement who resides in the United Arab Emirates, wrote in a Facebook post that Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of Donald Trump and one of the senior advisers involved in the American initiative, told him that he is in contact with the Israeli side in order to stop attacks on Gaza.

Dahlan added that contacts with the United States continue to ensure the full implementation of the agreement, and that its success now depends on the complete halt of Israel’s daily attacks on Gaza.

Reuters contacted the U.S. State Department to get comments on Dahlan’s remarks. Israel has also not yet issued a response.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza continued on Sunday for the second consecutive day and, according to Palestinian health officials, at least four Palestinians were killed. The strikes came after Donald Trump, the U.S. president, announced “progress” in efforts to implement last year’s ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
