Mohammad Javad Akbarin, a member of the editorial board of Iran International, said, referring to a secret meeting of senior U.S. officials at Camp David regarding the Islamic Republic and the Houthis, that the Houthis’ ties to the Islamic Republic and the importance of Bab al-Mandab for maritime security and the global supply chain have caused these two to become an interconnected file for the United States.
He added that the Islamic Republic has pursued its policy by destabilizing governments and countries, and in Yemen has placed the Houthis against the country’s legitimate government; in contrast, America’s focus is on forming a stable government in Yemen.
