🔶 Migrant Association in East Germany: We must take the election result seriously
Reactions to the election results in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt continue. The migrant association in East Germany, pointing to the victory of the far-right Alternative for Germany, called on politicians and civil society to “pay more attention than ever to the concerns and realities of life of people with a migration background.”
The migrant association (DaMOst e.V), which connects migrant organizations in five eastern German states and has been active since 2018, said: “People with a migration background have long been an obvious part of Saxony-Anhalt. They live and work in the cities and districts of this state, are active in associations, found businesses, and take responsibility in different areas of social life. Therefore, their experiences and viewpoints naturally belong in the political debates about the future of this state.”
