📸 Lucky Luke turns 80

Before he became an animated hero, Lucky Luke was born on paper. Maurice, a Belgian artist, created him in 1946, and his first feature-length animation, known as “Daisy Town,” reached cinemas in 1971.

In eight decades, this cowboy has changed again and again; his cigarette has made way for a stalk of grass, and his stories have addressed topics such as racism and animal welfare.

Now, in a new album, “Lucky Luke the Sacred,” the Wild West has also opened up to conspiracy theories, the formation of cults, and fascination with celebrities.

Do you know Lucky Luke more through his comics or his animations?
