🔶 Israel’s ambassador to the UN reacts to U.S. election results: “Work for us will be harder”
Dani Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, warned in an interview with the i24NEWS network about rising anti-Israel sentiments in the U.S. Congress following the election results.
Rejecting claims that attribute the ongoing war in Iran and the rise in energy prices in the United States to Israel, Danon, in response to recent statements by J.D. Vance, the U.S. vice president, about the reason for the Republicans’ failure in the midterm elections, said: “Washington independently decided to attack Iran, even though Israel supported this operation.”
In another part of his remarks, the Israeli ambassador added: “It’s always very easy to blame Israel for everything. But that’s not the reality.”
When asked whether Trump might be seeking an agreement with Iran’s government that does not meet Israel’s security requirements, Danon emphasized that Israel will defend itself independently.
He also added: “We will always do whatever is necessary to protect ourselves.”
Danon also expressed confidence that, despite the increase in challenges in Congress, the Washington administration will continue to use its veto power at the United Nations to support Israel.
The Israeli ambassador to the UN also, in reaction to the Democrats’ victory in the midterm elections, said that this will make it “more difficult” for Israel to operate. At the same time, he added that Israel will continue cooperating with its allies across the political spectrum.
