🔶 Kepler: The number of ship transits through the Strait of Hormuz is in single digits

Kepler, a maritime tracking company, said that the number of vessel passages through the Strait of Hormuz remains in single digits. Reuters, citing Kepler data, reported that on Monday, August 17 (26 Mordad), six cargo ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz.

This comes while the 10-day average of traffic on this route has been 11 ships. However, on last Saturday there were 3 vessels and on Sunday only 2.

According to Reuters, despite a relative increase in traffic compared with the weekend, no very large crude oil tankers (VLCCs) carrying crude oil or liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers were recorded transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.

Kepler also noted that some vessels may have transited the strait by turning off their tracking systems and therefore may not have been included in the recorded figures.
