🔶 Israeli intelligence: Netanyahu’s son returned from the US due to a security threat

The Shin Bet, Israel’s internal intelligence service, confirmed that Yair Netanyahu, the son of Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, was forced to leave the United States and return to Israel due to a serious security threat.

In a statement on Saturday, 7 Shahrivar (29 August), the Shin Bet said that “a significant threat to Yair Netanyahu was identified and, following an assessment of the situation, it was decided that he would be transferred immediately to Israel along with his security team.” The security agency did not specify the source of the threat, and in its statement it did not comment on reports related to an Iranian plan to assassinate one of Netanyahu’s sons.

The US network Newsmax had previously reported that the 35-year-old Yair Netanyahu was the target of an assassination plot attributed to Iran toward the end of last year. The network, citing an American source familiar with the details of the case in law-enforcement agencies, claimed that “Iranian agents” were present in Miami and were monitoring his residence and movements.
