🔶 Iraq Denies Trump’s Claim About Coordination with Baghdad for Attacks on Popular Mobilization Headquarters

A spokesman for the Iraqi government denied any prior information from Baghdad about attacks carried out on the territory of this country. According to the Iraqi state news agency, Haider al-Obeidi, the spokesman said that Iraq “had no prior information about attacks carried out on its soil.”

Al-Obeidi emphasized that the Iraqi government has not issued any authorization to attack specific locations or groups within the country’s territory. He added that Baghdad will not allow its soil to be used to carry out attacks on neighboring countries.

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, had said that joint U.S. and Saudi attacks against groups aligned with the Islamic Republic in Iraq were carried out in coordination with Baghdad.

In these attacks, carried out in retaliation for attacks on facilities in Saudi Arabia, including positions of the Popular Mobilization Forces in some parts of Iraq, dozens of members of this group were killed and/or injured.
