The Iranian embassy in Kuwait has “categorically” denied the involvement of an Iranian national in a plot to assassinate figures and any actions against Kuwait’s national security.

A court in Kuwait has recently sentenced three people to death after trial on charges of spying for Lebanon’s Hezbollah and planning the assassination of figures and senior officials of this country.

Eight other people in this case were sentenced to five years in prison.

One of the sentenced individuals is an Iranian citizen.

The Iranian embassy said that such “baseless allegations” against Iranian nationals are “contrary to the principle of good neighborliness.”

Relations between Kuwait and Iran have become tense since the start of the recent war.
