Iran International launches the “Farhânaz Espad Scholarship”; a scholarship in memory of our dear and capable colleague, who passed away at the age of 37 on 26 Mordad this year, after eight years of working with Iran International.

This scholarship will cover the cost of education for at least one Iranian student each year for a master’s degree program abroad. The thesis topic of the selected candidates must be about human rights in Iran, with a special focus on women’s rights. The total amount of the scholarship in each year is 40,000 pounds and is not limited to any specific university.

Iranian students who have received admission to a reputable master’s program abroad may apply for this scholarship. Submissions open each year on 20 Esfand, Farhânaz’s birthday, and the names of the selected candidates will be announced on 26 Mordad, the anniversary of her passing. The selection of the scholarship recipients is the responsibility of Iran International’s editorial board.
