Iman Aghayari, political analyst, referring to differences within the power structure and the intensification of domestic and external pressures on the Islamic Republic, said it is possible that the Iranian government, without directly initiating a war, could take actions through its proxy forces that, in practice, would amount to restarting the fighting.
According to him, disagreement among the political currents within the Islamic Republic reflects, more than the existence of a solution, the “institutional and structural helplessness” of a system that neither has readiness for war nor readiness to accept a lasting agreement.
