Mike Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, in an interview with Newsmax, said that the Islamic Republic is responsible for the recent attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on Saudi Arabia, adding that Tehran’s financial and educational support has provided the Houthis with the ability to carry out these attacks.

Huckabee said: “Why do the Houthis have the capability to carry out such actions? Because the Islamic Republic gives them money, empowers them, and trains them.”

The U.S. ambassador to Israel emphasized that Washington’s goal in confronting Iran is to contain attacks by groups supported by the Islamic Republic, including the Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah.

He added: “Containing the Iranian government is the only way to stop some of these attacks that we are seeing carried out through proxy forces.”

Huckabee also, while referring to the pressures of the Trump administration, U.S. President Donald Trump, against the Islamic Republic, said: “Since 1979, Iran has been in its weakest position. This is a good thing.”

He added: “Militarily, Trump has dealt them hard blows, and now economically he is also subjecting them to crushing pressures.”
