The Houthis in Yemen, a group supported by the Islamic Republic, said they were responsible for two operations against what they called “sensitive targets” in Riyadh and the facilities of Aramco in the Saudi city of Yanbu. They said they will continue attacks on Saudi Arabia until Saudi Arabia stops its attacks and ends the blockade of Yemen.

In a statement on Saturday, September 28, Houthi armed forces announced that the two operations were carried out in response to airstrikes by Saudi Arabia and the accusation by that country about targeting Mecca by the Houthis.

The Houthis also rejected reports by Saudi media about targeting civilians and said that the explosions Saudi Arabia attributes to them are, in some cases, the result of unsuccessful operations of the country’s air defense systems.

The statement also said attacks on Saudi positions and troop gatherings will continue, and the Houthis will follow the policy of “blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation.”
