Trump signs sweeping sanctions in law, targeted Russia's trading partners

US President Donald Trump has signed a bill that targets Russian trading partners, with tariffs of up to 100 per cent.

The bill also sanctions Russian oligarchs, financial institutions, and Russia's fleet of so-called 'shadow tankers'.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed the bill, whilst India and China, Russia's biggest trading partners, have warned Washington against exercising such powers.
