🔻Ghaani: Regional countries end the war; Saudi Arabia spends on Gaza instead of fighting in Yemen
Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in new remarks asked the countries of the region, by ending the war, to direct what he called “the energy of the Islamic world” toward “helping Gaza and confronting Israel.”
In a video released from the Quds Force commander’s speech, he claims that Saudi Arabia has spent “10 billion dollars” over the past few weeks to confront the Houthis, and raises the question of why Riyadh does not allocate that budget to help Gaza.
He then calls for ending the war in the region and for unity among the Muslim countries of the Persian Gulf.
Mr. Qaani, who appears to have spoken at a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the former secretary-general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and other commanders of the “Axis of Resistance” who were killed, refers to the departure of the last group of American troops from Iraq and calls it “the expulsion of America.” He says: “America, despite all its facilities and equipment, has been expelled from Iraq, and the people of this country, by the blessing of the resistance of the people of Iraq and the heroes of the Resistance Front, have celebrated this victory.”
In the statements of the leaders of the Islamic Republic, the “Axis of Resistance” is described as a regional alliance led by Iran that includes the Islamic Republic, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas, Shiite militias in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen—an alliance that was formed in opposition to American and Israeli influence.
