🔻 Iraqchi in talks with Japan’s foreign minister: for restoring security to the Persian Gulf, the United States must end its meddling actions

Iran says that to restore security in the Persian Gulf, the United States must end its “illegal actions.”

Abbas Iraqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, said in a phone call with Toshimitsu Motegi, Japan’s foreign minister, that the continuation of insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf is “simply due to the aggressive and meddlesome actions of the United States.”

He also stressed in the conversation that the only way to restore security is to stop the United States’ “illegal actions.”

Mr. Iraqchi also emphasized the role of mediators in advancing diplomacy.

According to a report from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the foreign ministers of Iran and Japan also exchanged views regarding bilateral relations between Tehran and Tokyo, and Toshimitsu Motegi explained Japan’s positions on issues of shared interest.
