🔻Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that he hopes the Strait of Hormuz will remain open to shipping and that Iran sanctions will eventually be lifted.
According to Reuters, Putin told a group of experts on Russian affairs that the country’s proposal to receive enriched uranium from Iran would still stand, provided that these materials are removed from the soil of that country.
In his remarks to the group, the Russian president also said that Moscow supports the peaceful resolution of all issues.
He also warned that if Moscow determines that the exclave region of Kaliningrad in the Baltic Sea has been targeted by a direct attack, it will use all the weapons at its disposal.
Putin emphasized that Moscow “does not threaten anyone” and is only responding to statements by Western leaders about Russia’s readiness for war in 2029 or 2030.
Over the course of the current week, Russia has repeatedly accused NATO of preparing to besiege it or cut off Kaliningrad from Russia; a region located between Lithuania and Poland and separated from Russia’s main territory.
