Following the Islamic Republic officials’ crackdown on factors affecting the currency market, this time cryptocurrency exchanges were put in the spotlight of restrictions by the Central Bank. Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported on Saturday, 11 Mehr, that the Central Bank intends to block the accounts and rial payment gateways of some of these exchanges.

Fars wrote that certain cryptocurrency exchanges create disruptions in the pricing of Tether and, as a result, in the currency market by registering artificial buy orders in the Tether market.

According to this report, the Central Bank’s restrictions this time will be harsher, but one side of the accounts of the exchanges covered by the restrictions will remain open so that users can settle their funds.

Fars also reported that overnight Tether transactions in cryptocurrency exchanges have been limited, and trading of it has been stopped during nighttime hours.
