Esmail Baghaei, on the dialogue between the Islamic Republic’s delegation and the Qatari mediator, told the regime-affiliated IRNA news agency: “Our country’s delegation, according to a prior schedule, will leave New York for Tehran on Monday night.”

The spokesperson of the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: “On Monday afternoon, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, a meeting with Qatar’s delegation took place, and during it, while discussing the latest developments in the region, Qatar’s mediator was given points of view and assessments.”

He further said that the Islamic Republic’s delegation “conveyed its own considerations to the Qatari mediator and emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, just as it has always participated with good faith in diplomatic processes, is also firm and steadfast in defending the highest interests of the Iranian nation against any kind of demands or aggression.”

As IRNA wrote, Baghaei emphasized: “No discussion took place regarding the details of the issues, and all media reports in this regard are only speculations that have no real basis.”
