🔻Donald Trump, the U.S. president, in his campaign speech in Durant, Oklahoma, for the first time claimed that Iran’s nuclear facilities that were targeted by B-52 bombers were also places for producing drugs. He did not provide any evidence for this claim.
Recalling the U.S. attack on these facilities, Trump said that the bombs penetrated what he called “drug factories,” and emphasized that these sites were “both nuclear and drug-related.” He went on to refer to them as “drug/nuclear factories.”
This is the first time that Trump, in explaining U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, links them to the production of drugs. So far, no other U.S. official or any reliable independent source has announced that the nuclear facilities targeted in Iran were places for producing drugs.
