⚡U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday, the first of Aban, that the United States can swiftly bring the Islamic Republic’s work to an end, but that it is considering whether it should take such action or allow the Iranian government to gradually collapse from within under economic pressures and a naval blockade.
In remarks to reporters at the White House, President Trump said: “We can end their work very quickly, but Iran is a country on the verge of failure.” He added: “The question is whether we want to finish the job or just let it collapse. Because we are getting to everything we want.”
Referring to the Islamic Republic’s oil blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. president said: “We can take out as much oil as we want from there. We’ve closed the strait for them, but not for anyone else.”
He also said that the volume of oil transfers from other countries through this waterway over the past week has even surpassed the level before the war, while the Islamic Republic is facing a shortage of financial resources and severe inflation.
