🔺Crisis of drinking water shortage in Taiz; the city is under Houthi siege

▪Taiz, a city in the south west of Yemen that is under siege by the Houthis, a group supported by the Islamic Republic, is facing a severe crisis of drinking water shortage.

▪The city has been grappling with water-related problems for more than a decade, but the situation has worsened in recent weeks.

▪According to a report by this news agency, humanitarian groups say that the available water resources provide less than 10% of the needs of more than one million residents of Taiz; access to wells has been limited, fuel reserves for water facilities are running low, and entry of water-tanker trucks into the city is being prevented.

▪Families ration water and pay up to 75% more for water than in the past.
