Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense issued a danger warning for the cities of Mecca, Jeddah, Taif and Yanbu on Saturday, and informed the public about the end of the danger about 10 minutes after the alert ended.

The warning was issued amid an increase in attacks by Yemen’s Houthis, aligned with the Islamic Republic. Jeddah is the second-largest city in Saudi Arabia.

On Friday, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Egypt, in a statement, condemned the escalation of tensions by the Houthis “in the strongest terms” and called for the cessation of all military actions.

Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s foreign minister, also called for the halt of attacks on Saudi Arabia after a meeting in Istanbul.

Johann Wadenvoll, Germany’s foreign minister, emphasized the need to support Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
