🔶 Attack on guard of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade; attacker killed in police shooting

An armed man with two knives attacked the guard of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, early on Wednesday, October 28 (Aban 6), and after injuring him, was killed by the shooting of the officer.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said: “None of the embassy staff were injured. The embassy was closed at the time of the incident during the night hours.”

The Belgrade prosecutor’s office also stated, in this regard, that the attacker opened the guard booth and went toward the officer: “The unidentified person threw one of the knives toward the officer, which struck his left side.”

According to the prosecutor’s office, the officer then fired several shots; an action that has been assessed as self-defense.
